Let’s start at the very beginning/a very good place to start

However when adapting/remaking/re-imagining a famous property it often isn’t.  Last week I sat down to watch Emerald City, the Game of Thrones style TV remake of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It is everything you’d expect from such a description (minus the pointless female nudity) yet the opening episode was often boring as the usual plot points came and went. When Casting Ruins Plot Twists

I was originally going to publish this post back in November but for a number of reasons I never hit the publish button. However, now the film in question is out on DVD I thought I’d resurrect this article from draft hell and release it onto the interwebs. This article will be full of spoilers for very obvious reasons but on top of this is, the problem is I can’t tell you for what movies as just mentioning the film reveals a spoiler because of the nature of this post.
